Born as the eldest with two younger brothers, I am deeply grateful to the Almighty for blessing me with such a wonderful family. My father, a doctor by profession but a socially connected individual at heart, always encouraged my adventurous endeavors. Both he and my mother instilled in me from an early age that helping the poor and needy—whether with food, money, medical aid, or otherwise—is not dependent on how much you have. Serving the community is a way of life, and what truly matters is your mindset and intent.
As an NCC officer, a shooting champion, and an active participant in Kavi Sammelans and community gatherings, I absorbed life’s lessons from every experience around me.
My journey took me to Kuwait and later to Dubai, alongside a husband who shared my energy and love for people. There, I discovered that often, what people need most is not just money or food, but someone to listen to them.
In time, I transitioned from being Kusum to becoming Mrs. Kusum Dutta, and affectionately ‘Kusum didi’ or Kusumji to many others.
Do I love the life I have led so far? Absolutely! Do you know why?
Because experiencing life’s highs and lows up close has made my journey incredibly fulfilling.
I believe that no problem is without a solution. By staying calm, listening carefully, and exploring deeply within yourself, you can find the answers you seek. You possess the strength and power to overcome any challenge.
